Cleveland's Record Losing Streak

February 8th 2011 15:25
It has been a little bit over a year since I joined the Orble Community. I have met a lot of wonderful writers during my team here thus far. I enjoy blogging for Orble and would like to thank all the writers and Orble for giving me this great opportunity! I am able to run my own blog on a domain for free.

The Cleveland Cavs have the longest losing streak in NBA history at 25 games. That's no surprise considering how awful their players are. You have to remember- well you most definitely do remember- that the Cavs built their entire team around LeBron James. Most of these guys are shooters that cannot create their own shots, or they are defensive players that are bumbling baboons on the offensive side. Anderson Varejao- their best rebounder and defender- has been injured for a while now.

Their best player, Antawn Jamison, is struggling right now mainly because he is a big man that has no passers to give him the rock. Mo Williams is the best passer on the team, and he is currently injured. He isn't even that good of a passer anyway. Ramon Sessions and Daniel Gibson are average players, but the keyword there is average. Anthony Parker is decent, but injuries have forced them to play Christian Eyenga at small forward. Jamario Moon is their backup.

The starters are poor, but their bench is even worse in the frontcourt. The backcourt is solid as far as depth goes, but the frontcourt is the worst in the league. JJ Hickson isn't a bad center, but Ryan Hollins is certainly a bad backup. Did I mention that Samardo Samuels is the backup power forward? Byron Scott is a good coach, but coaching doesn't do much good when the coach has to work with awful players.

The Cavs certainly are the worst team in the league- although the Raptors do give them a run. The Cavaliers need to sign somebody in the offseason. They don't have a single player on their team that can be called a star. Jamison and Varejao are good, but they aren't good enough to be called star players in the league. Who knows how many more Cleveland loses? Detroit is next and a home game against Washington is going to be three games from now. They should be able to compete for a win in those two games. After that, it's the Lakers and Knicks.

Joe,

Do you think the Cavs will be able to sign a decent Free Agent that could be their star player? I know players like money but they want to win and after watching this team lose this many games who is going to want to give them a chance. I agree with you that they do have awful players. That is going to make it tough to bring in a big name FA to help them out. It sucks for them since we do not even know if they will get the top pick in the draft since the NBA does it different then other sports. Good betting oppurtunities on them right now since they are so bad that people just want to bet against them and they have played the last five games very tough.

Yep, the Cavs are bad. Will be lucky to get over 12 wins.

I think Cleveland should be focused on bringing in a few solid free agents at first, and then they should trade some of the guys that they don't need as much. They'll figure it out eventually though.
