2/9 NBA Rumors: Denver Nuggets
February 9th 2011 14:54
The Warriors are interested in acquiring rugged center Nene. If the Warriors can get him, this would be a great move considering how poor their frontcourt is defensively. They also don't have much depth there. Nene is a great defensive player that would really boost the Warriors. Nene has an expiring contract, but he is a star so his value would be maximized by re-signing him. Golden State would obviously do that as they need him in the long term.
The Lakers are not interested in trading Andrew Bynum. A team that is rumored to be interested in the star defensive center is the Denver Nuggets. Coincidence? This is an interesting story to watch. Denver is having a really busy trade deadline, but that was easily foreseen in the offseason with all the rumors then. The Lakers would never trade one of their key cogs that has brought them to championship titles.
Antawn Jamison is in a lot of trade rumors as the lowly Cavs are trying to milk out his value. He is unhappy with his situation on a losing team that can't get him the ball. The New Orleans Hornets are interested in bringing Jamison in to team up with David West. Chris Paul would easily be able to give him the ball, and this would be a great situation for Jamison. Jamison is making 15.1 million, but he is also an expiring contract. The Hornets want him on board for what will be a championship run. The Hornets really want him, but they aren't sure as to whether or not they can get a deal done before the deadline on February 24th.
The Nuggets have to make a choice. This choice is a three team deal that involves the Timberwolves and, of course, the Knicks and Carmelo Anthony. The pieces are in place, it is up for the Nuggets to chose. They rejected numerous trades, most of them 3 teamers, so we don't know what will happen. All the deals they have gotten stunk so far. We don't know what exactly is going to happen, but we do know that Carmelo is going to move from Denver to New York if this deal goes through.
